Lowboy Transport
Lowboy transport is the haul. You have a tall or heavy machine. We bring the low deck, load it, and drop it where the superintendent points. That is the service on this page.
We pick the route after we tape height. A spec sheet is a starting point. The tape on the lot is the number we drive with. Soft shoulders and tight gates belong on the first call.

Lowboy trailer transport is about the deck. People search this phrase when they need a machine moved on a lowboy. We haul on that trailer.
The product is clearance. A low deck keeps an assembled excavator under a bridge that a regular trailer would fail. If you need a 50-ton deck, say the weight. We will tell you if we can take it. Trees behind older shops and alleys off industrial streets are the usual surprise. Tell us before we commit to a front load.
RGN Trailer
An RGN trailer has a removable gooseneck. We drop the neck and drive the machine on from the front when the lot has no room for a rear ramp. Tampa yards and small Winter Haven pads ask for that more than a wide grove gate does.
The RGN still needs a solid place to kneel. Sand, a lip at the driveway, or last night’s rain can stop the drop. We may ask to meet on pavement and walk the machine in. Send a photo of the gate if it looks tight.
When You Need a Lowboy
When you need a lowboy, the machine is tall enough or heavy enough that a regular trailer is a bad idea. An excavator that has to stay assembled is the usual example. Taking the boom off costs the contractor a day.

Lowboy Services
Lowboy services, for a superintendent, are the drop. Kneel the neck. Get the machine off. Get the trailer off the street. New Osceola streets are narrow. We may ask you to meet on a collector and walk the machine the last block.
Sand pads may need mats. A street with no shoulder may need cones. Tell us before we leave Frostproof. That is cheaper than burying a trailer.

Lowboy trucking in Orlando fights beltway bridges, one curb cut, and security lots. We stage off I-4 or the beltway, then roll in when the gate opens. Night drops are common because a daytime closure eats a full shift.
Send the gate code and the COI request before we leave Polk. Pads can be a single curb cut and a row of parked pickups. We may ask for a spotter. We tape the height and pick a route that matches that number.
Deck Height and Bridge Clearance on a Lowboy Trailer
The point of a lowboy is the deck height. A tall machine sits lower, so the top of the load clears more bridges. That matters when an excavator with the boom folded is close to the legal limit.
We measure from the ground to the highest point as the machine will ride. We do not use a spec sheet for this. The sheet may be for a different configuration, and a cab guard or a beacon light adds inches.
- Height to the top of the cab or the boom
- Whether a beacon or antenna can come down
- Ride height of the trailer with the load on
- The lowest bridge or wire on the route

Lowboy Loading Ramps and Front-Load RGN Drops
A lowboy usually loads from the rear. The driver lowers the ramps, drives the machine up, and chains it down. This works when the machine can drive and the ground behind the trailer is firm and flat.
An RGN loads differently. The gooseneck detaches and the front of the deck lowers to the ground. The machine drives on from the front. This helps when the lot has no room behind the truck, or when a tall machine needs the lowest approach angle.
Both methods need a solid surface. The deck can sink in sand or soft fill, and a ramp on a steep curb can scrape the underside of a long machine.

Lowboy Trailer Weight Capacity and Working Limits
Lowboys are built for heavy loads, but capacity has limits. We haul up to 82,000 pounds. That is the working weight we use for the whole truck, and we say no on the phone if a piece is over it.
Machine weight is not always what people expect. A tracked excavator with a long arm can weigh more than the number you remember. A dozer with a ripper adds weight. A loader with a heavy bucket adds more.
Check the machine's data plate, or the rental company's paperwork, for the weight. Send a photo if you can. We would rather check than guess.

Lowboy Hauling for Tracked and Wheeled Machines
Tracked and wheeled machines load differently. Tracks grip the ramp but can tear up pavement if they turn on the spot. Wheels roll easily but can slip on a wet ramp. The driver loads each type with care.
Dozers, excavators, and rollers are the common lowboy loads. Motor graders and large loaders also ride this deck. The machine goes on with the attachment in a travel position, and we chain it at the points the manufacturer gives.
- Tracked machines: keep the turn radius wide on pavement
- Wheeled machines: block the wheels after loading
- Rollers: check the drum and any water or ballast
- Articulated machines: lock the center joint
Tell us which type of machine you have and what is attached to it. A scraper blade or a ripper changes how we load. If you are not sure, send a photo and the make and model. We will tell you what we need before we roll. The photo can show tracks, tires, and attachments in one frame, which is usually enough for a first plan.
Lowboy Trucking Around Lakeland, Winter Haven, and Kissimmee
Lowboy work around Lakeland runs on I-4 and US-98. Industrial lots are tight, and tall trees along older streets are a common problem. We check the entrance before the truck arrives.
In Winter Haven, small pads and narrow streets are common. The RGN front load helps here because it does not need space behind the truck. US-17 and US-27 are the main roads in and out.
Kissimmee has newer streets and busy corridors. US-192 carries heavy traffic. Pads in new subdivisions can be a single curb cut with parked trucks on both sides. We may ask you to meet on a collector road.
