A tractor that looks legal in the grove can fail a state-road overpass once it sits on a trailer. We tape it. If the next stop is a packing house or another block the same day, say both stops before we leave the shop.

Wide farm implements are headers, discs, and anything that sticks out past the tractor. Measure the implement. A disc can be wider than the tractor you already described on the phone.

Groves, Pastures, and Rural Gates for Farm Equipment Delivery
Farm drops are not like city drops. The machine may be in the middle of a grove, behind a locked gate, or at the end of a sand road. The trailer needs a place to stop and a place to unload.
Rural gates can be wide or narrow. Cattle gates may swing in a way that blocks the truck. A grove road may have low limbs. We ask about all of these on the first call.
Ground conditions change fast after rain. A pasture entrance that was firm last week can be soft today. We may ask to meet on pavement and walk the machine in, which is safer than sinking a trailer.
Send a photo of the entrance and a pin that matches the field. A pin for the house can be a mile from the machine. Growers in Highlands County and Polk know this well. The more we know before we arrive, the faster the drop goes.
Seasonal Timing for Citrus, Sod, and Cattle Equipment Moves
Farm work follows the seasons. Harvest equipment has to be at the grove before the crop is ready. Sod machines have to be in the field when the cutting window opens. A cattle operation may need a tractor moved before the weather turns.
These are not fixed dates. They depend on the crop, the weather, and the schedule of the farm. Dispatch runs 24 hours, so we can plan an early start for a machine that has to be in place at first light.

Farm machines can pass legal width without looking big. Dual wheels add several inches. A header or a disc can extend past the tractor by feet. A boom sprayer folded in can still be wide.
Florida needs a permit for a load over 8 ft 6 in wide. If the load is wider, we file the paperwork for the route and add escorts when the width requires them. Measure the implement as it will ride, not as it sits in the field.

US-17 follows the ridge through Wauchula and Arcadia. US-27 serves Sebring and the lake country. SR-64 and SR-70 cross the area east and west. Roads are long and have few places to turn a trailer around.
Farm equipment is often at a distance from the nearest paved road. We plan for that by asking about the entrance and the surface before we leave.
